Wyoming Meadow

December 7, 2008 - 8"x10", acrylic on canvas

This is the last picture from our trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone. It comes from a photo taken while on a short hike near our campground between the two National Parks. It was a cloudy day, but the colors were great.

It' pretty simple and required about 6 hours. This however, included a lot of re-work. I didn't lie the grass in the meadow at first, so I re-did that, and the sage bush in the near ground initially was too much light blue and no shadows, so I re-did that after I was "finished". I covered it with anthriquinone blue and carbon black to establish a background and "shadows", then I added the detail of the sage.
