I purchased a small sta-wet pallet and a brush carrier. for a week long business trip to Michigan, I packed everything I need to render an image of a pink and white begonia from a photo I took in Big Sur on vacation with Kim in 2003(?).
This required a fairly detailed transfer of the petals and leaves to the 8”x10” canvas board. One lesson: you cannot create fuchsia pink from cadmium red, titanium white and cerulean blue; so I end up with something a bit more red than pink. The blending of the pink fringe on the petals with the white that makes up the larger part of the petal was very laborious. It also turns out that white is not always white: lots of blue and purple shading too. It took about 12 hours to complete. The background is mostly made-up and not really what I want.
